Gabourey Sidibe Turns 42! Her Husband Plans a Spa Day, Sushi & Heartfelt Tribute for “Our Queen”

Actress Gabourey Sidibe just turned 42, and her husband Brandon Frankel made sure her day was nothing short of royal. With sushi on the way, spa vibes planned, and a deeply emotional message, the celebration was full of love, gratitude, and appreciation.

On May 6, Brandon took to Instagram with a touching birthday post, calling Gabby “our queen” and “Super Mom,” while sharing adorable family moments featuring Gabby and their twins — Cooper and Maya, who just turned one last month.

“HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR QUEEN @gabbysidibe!!!” he wrote. “This last year you’ve fully turned into SUPER MOM, and the twins and I are so thankful to be able to celebrate you on your special day.”

He added, “Because you’ve more than earned it, there’s a bunch of sushi and a spa day in your future with your name on it! WE LOVE YOU THE MOST!”

A Modern Love Story — From Raya to Real Life

Gabby and Brandon first met on the elite dating app Raya, and it didn’t take long for sparks to fly. Their first date? A seven-hour hangout that sealed the deal. By November 2020, they were engaged — and by 2021, they were married in a private ceremony that fans only found out about later.

Brandon works behind the scenes in entertainment marketing and branding, and he’s been Gabby’s biggest cheerleader from day one.

The couple welcomed their twin babies on April 16, 2024, and have since embraced the rollercoaster of parenthood. They recently celebrated the twins’ first birthday with sweet social media tributes.

Brandon even took his love to the next level, getting tattoos of Gabby’s and the twins’ names on his body.

“Getting to watch @gabbysidibe aka Cowboy Frankel having a ball is my absolute favorite,” Brandon shared. “’I’M HAVING A GREAT TIME!’ was coming out of her mouth all night.”

Meanwhile, Gabby’s professional life hasn’t slowed down either. She recently starred in Lifetime’s thriller Give Me Back My Daughter and voiced characters in Disney XD’s new animated series StuGo.
